@Wyang: I see. 䴈 is out of the scope of 國語一字多音審訂表, so I guess there's no absolute standard here. The Dictionary of Chinese Character Variants and CNS have ao3 though. Is yao1 restricted to the word 鶆䴈? — justin(r)leung _{{ (t...) | c=› }} 09:11, 30 January 2017 (UTC)

The dictionary doesn't have 䴈 on its own, only 鶆䴈:

鶆䴈 (ㄌㄞˊㄧㄠ | lái yāo | 木人竹日火 竹大竹日火):

〔動〕 鳥名，似鴕鳥而體形較小。

I saw the other Taiwan dictionaries, but I wasn't sure if they were applicable to 鶆䴈. Wyang (talk) 09:15, 30 January 2017 (UTC)
