Regarding stage names[edit]

I don't intend to get in to the habit of creating entries for stage names except when there are special conditions, and Ms. Kilcher is one. Notability is evidenced by eg. Wikipedia entry and obvious international prominence but that is beside the point that in this case the first name is very specifically distinguishable from ordinary and customary use of first names. It is, in fact, the evolved name for stage purposes in a manner which is very specific and unusual. She is - Jewel, and in a way different than Sammy Davis, Jr. is Sammy. Anyone with a nuanced understanding of AMERICAN English gets how much the full name is appropriate; to call Sammy Davis Juniour merely by his given first name just sounds unidiomatic.

How about Pedro for w:Pedro Martinez then? Mglovesfun (talk) 23:13, 14 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]
It doesn't matter how "notable" a pop star is. Specific people are the province of Wikipedia, not Wiktionary. Equinox 23:23, 14 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Calling me by my first name must sound unbelievably idiomatic then! Mglovesfun (talk) 23:25, 14 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I don't understand what you're trying to say. Equinox 23:27, 14 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]
