The term, with its varying camel case, actually predates Obamacare, and the Wall Street Journal seems to be particularly fond of it. Some examples:

  • 2006, Deroy Murdock, "Romneycare's Fine Print", Wall Street Journal (May 6, 2006).
  • 2006, B. Miniter, "Bad medicine: What's wrong with RomneyCare?", Opinion Journal (April 12, 2006).
  • 2007, Sally C. Pipes, "Intensive Care for RomneyCare", Wall Street Journal (Feb. 26, 2007), A 19, col. 3.
  • 2010, Grace-Marie Turner, "The Failure of RomneyCare", Wall Street Journal (March 16, 2010).
  • 2011, Mike Huckabee, A Simple Government: Twelve Things We Really Need from Washington:
In chapter 2, I mentioned how the federal government ignored the negative results of the health-care “experiment” known as RomneyCare. It could be argued that if RomneyCare were a patient, the prognosis would be dismal.
  • 2011, Cynthia J. Quinn, Rules for Radical Moms: How to Save America One Baby Step at a Time, p. 17:
Even more troubling, if you are unfortunate and lose your job in this lousy economy, you cannot afford Romneycare, and you are fined.

Cheers! bd2412 T 03:47, 26 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Ok, based on the citations you've found (thanks, BD!), I propose to pass RomneyCare as attested and keep it as the main entry, keep Romneycare as a soft redirect (as it is now), and delete Romney-care and Romney Care. Would anyone like to argue that the last two should just be turned into hard redirects instead? - -sche (discuss) 06:31, 29 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I find one use in print for each of the latter two forms:
  • 2011, Shawn O'Reilly, The Next-to-Last American President, p. 94:
I never forgave him for Romney Care in Massachusetts.
  • 2008, Cody Robert Judy, Taking a Stand, p. 365:
    I like Romney-Care.
I'm not sure that this is enough to justify a redirect. bd2412 T 18:09, 29 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
