what is a russki? russki 196.0.28.42 05:44, 4 December 2012 (UTC)Reply

The definitions say what Russki is. It means Russian (noun and adjective) but derogatory. In my experience, it's also used in joke. --Anatoli (обсудить/вклад) 05:48, 4 December 2012 (UTC)Reply

As this is the exact rendition of the primary Russian word ("русский"), I wonder how an endonym can be considered derogatory. --KiloByte (talk) 23:11, 2 March 2022 (UTC)Reply

It's not uncommon to have a derogatory word derived from an endonym. See for instance Serbo-Croatian Šiptar, from Albanian shqiptar. Bogdan (talk) 07:17, 3 March 2022 (UTC)Reply
@KiloByte: If your native language is Russian, you might think of comparing rather derogatory мусли́м (muslím) (from Arabic or other descendants) vs standard мусульма́нин (musulʹmánin). --Anatoli T. (обсудить/вклад) 07:35, 3 March 2022 (UTC)Reply
In English, Polack is another example. 70.172.194.25 07:45, 3 March 2022 (UTC)Reply
