What about a cow bail?

I've added a separate etymology for this sense. I think the French derivation may not extend to as many senses as is claimed, but it is difficult to be sure. It is also possible for the same word with the same sense to have two separate (though possibly linked) etymologies. The Northern UK, and antipodal senses are almost certainly directly from Old Norse. Dbfirs 08:13, 29 July 2009 (UTC)

Skateboarding Sense[edit]

We are missing the skateboarding sense "to fall". Just wondering what the etymology is, I would add it in Etymology 1 under the assumption that it's original meaning here was to fall securely (see here); cf. bailout. Rhyminreason (talk) 20:47, 25 March 2018 (UTC)
