Is this ever used without the word obvious immediately following? I suspect yes, but I suspect it is not *commonly* used outside this context, and that this would be better listed as an atomic phrase bleedingly obvious, which i suspect is a vulgar derivative of blindingly obvious just as bleeding edge may have once been a vulgar variant of cutting edge.
