Used by Mark Twain: "The biggest thing is the world is to invent a steam railroad break that the engineer can apply throughout his train without needing breakmen." Note the spelling of "break" for "brake" there too. Just Twain's error, or a legit archaic form? Equinox 15:10, 22 August 2020 (UTC)Reply
