SoP: burst out (sense 2) + laughing. Ultimateria (talk) 17:22, 5 April 2019 (UTC)
- Delete, SOP. There is also “burst out crying” ([1], [2], [3]), “burst out guffawing” ([4], [5], [6]), “burst out shrieking” ([7], [8], [9]), and many more. --Lambiam 13:40, 6 April 2019 (UTC)
- Definitely SOP, but I think it could be a useful translation hub. Abstain for now. (by the way, I created the French translation éclater de rire some time ago, but I remember not being convinced of what I was doing at the time. It sounds quite SOP too) Chignon – Пучок 10:32, 14 April 2019 (UTC)
- Keep set phrase. Mihia (talk) 23:49, 16 April 2019 (UTC)
- Keep per the non-binding WT:LEMMING: in M-W[10]. I am wondering about the best Czech translation; one dictionary has propuknout v smích, but the phrase seems only borderline attested in use; chances are this could also meet WT:THUB, but not certain. As for which combinations of "burst out" we would keep, probably burst out laughing and possibly burst out crying; burst out laughing, burst out crying, burst out guffawing, burst out shrieking at the Google Books Ngram Viewer.. --Dan Polansky (talk) 09:16, 29 March 2020 (UTC)
- Kept, no consensus. - TheDaveRoss 14:01, 17 April 2020 (UTC)
