Arthur Francis Pimbley's Dictionary of Heraldry says "Campane and Campaned are terms that are little used", and this seems to be correct: I'm having a hard time finding cites of either the heraldic or the alembic sense. I've found two cites which do support the definition "bell" (although not the label "heraldry"), but one is a dictionary using the word in a definition, which although technically a use and not a mention (nor a made-up example), is clearly scraping the bottom of the barrel of what's acceptable. Beyond that, I can find a cite of some architectural sense ("its cupolas, its red-brick campanes, that cluster above its ancient walls"), and eye dialect ("run the campanes between now and 1884 with enuff discreshun to win the grate fite ahead uv us"). - -sche (discuss) 04:14, 12 May 2023 (UTC)Reply

I think there are now enough cites on Citations:campane to support one generalized sense along the lines of "A bell, or something bell-shaped", but perhaps other people can find more cites and cite more senses. - -sche (discuss) 04:19, 12 May 2023 (UTC)Reply
RFV-failed the over-specific senses, but the general sense passes with a very small but sufficient number of cites on the citations page. - -sche (discuss) 19:51, 17 July 2023 (UTC)Reply
