Possible relationship with χάρις[edit]

Is this word etimologically related with χάρις? --Daniel. 18:25, 22 November 2010 (UTC)

No, it's from Latin caritas, which is a derivative of carus "dear". It's distantly etymologically related to whore (of all things), but the similarity to χάρις (from which charisma is derived) is coincidental. —Angr 12:05, 31 December 2010 (UTC)
