I'd like to know more about the sense in which this word was used in the film "Crybaby". IMDB has it as a synonym of "greaser"..?--128.115.27.11 23:23, 4 September 2009 (UTC)Reply

Clothing sense?

[edit]

There was some controversy over a US school prom where a girl wanted to wear a tuxedo but, being female, was told she had to wear a drape. What is a drape in this sense? Equinox 22:33, 3 June 2013 (UTC)Reply

@Equinox That would seem to refer to a drape dress or a drape(d) overlay (just Google Image it); compare also draped garment. --Florian Blaschke (talk) 12:14, 15 December 2016 (UTC)Reply

Tendre les rideaux

According to Google Translate, ‘tendre les rideaux’, which by rights should mean ‘stretch the curtains/drapes’ translates simply to ‘drape’. Could someone shine some light on this and perhaps add this translation to Wiktionary if it’s correct please?
