- I added the basic definition of the word (the one I'm familiar with, backed up by Wikipedia's article w:Fnord) and moved the dubious definitions to Talk:Fnord. Extended senses of it based on that could still be added. It seems to be a game to invent definitions of this word, but I think they should not be added to the page unless serious examples of use are cited. —Muke Tever 19:46, 28 Aug 2004 (UTC)

• A nonsense term commonly used by a group of satirically inclined devotees known as the Discordians. Often stated as a reminder that what is being said is probably said in jest and to not believe all of what you read.
• A word referring to the sound of one hand clapping in applause at the creation of the perfectly round rectangle and the perfectly cornered circle. Fnord.
• A very dangerous and mystically powerful word that repeated 42 times in rapid enough succession is said to be able to cause the total destruction of life, the universe, and everything. Fnord. (How rapidly no one knows, and I truly hope no one ever finds out).
• Fnord is undefined by definition.
• Fnord is exactly what you think it is.
"fnord" and "fjord"[edit]
The article claims that "According to one theory, it is a lot like fjord, but has an 'n' instead of a 'j'." There is no citation for it and it is not mentioned in the Wikipedia article. What "theory" is this, and is it valid or is it just someone's opinion which they have added to the article? 86.152.210.92 23:06, 22 May 2008 (UTC)
