Pronunciation: hard /g/

I just heard Paul Hogan say it with a hard G. Is that common in Australia? If so, shouldn't it be here? Thmazing (talk) 05:17, 7 September 2021 (UTC)

Gesture with a hard g is an unpopular pronunciation and the soft g pronunciation is popular and usual but both are correct and acceptable Sharry2021 (talk) 08:38, 3 November 2021 (UTC)

I had to protect the page because people were making a complete pig's ear out of adding this. The enPR was wrong ("ur" is not valid; see Appendix:English pronunciation) and the IPA had a /d͡ʒ/ which is obviously a soft g, not a hard g. It also remains to be demonstrated that the pronunciation is common enough to begin with to warrant inclusion here. — surjection ⟨??⟩ 11:42, 9 November 2021 (UTC)
