I'm unconvinced that these two are meaningfully distinct, as the second seems to include the first:
- (intransitive, computing, engineering) To stop functioning, to go offline.
- To fail.
Should these be merged, maybe with a clarification that it's often used in a computing context? Theknightwho (talk) 18:05, 26 January 2022 (UTC)
- I wonder if whoever added "To fail" was taking a stab at defining the childish taunt sense, meaning "to be soundly defeated", as in "You guys are going down!". This, that and the other (talk) 10:34, 27 January 2022 (UTC)
- That's a good one actually - I hadn't thought of that, and it doesn't seem to be covered at the moment. If we don't hear from anyone else, I'm happy to go with it. Theknightwho (talk) 11:30, 27 January 2022 (UTC)
