- The word ὅσμισις (hosmisis), with its spiritus asper, should be Ancient Greek but is not listed in LSJ. There is a similar word ὅρμισις (hormisis), “bringing a ship to anchor”; Modern Greek has inherited it as όρμιση (ormisi). The entry hosmise appears to be a hoax or else a stupendous mistake. --Lambiam 22:21, 26 August 2018 (UTC)
- Given that the IP geolocates to Kiev, a hoax sounds pretty likely. Either way, the entry is useless, since there's absolutely nothing online for the Greek, the French or the English- it could be "abcxyz" for all the good it does us. I speedied it as "No usable content given", but also protected it from re-creation, since there's not a speck of evidence for it. Chuck Entz (talk) 02:02, 27 August 2018 (UTC)
