Southern American English[edit]

Is there a Wiktionary policy on giving or not giving the pronunciation of Southern American English? For example, "inclement" is given here as US and UK: /ɪnˈklɛm.ənt/, but in Southern American English, which often shifts stress to the first syllable, it is / ˈɪn.kləm.ənt/. No, no such policy. They'd be welcome especially when different from US/UK ones. Mglovesfun (talk) 18:24, 10 October 2011 (UTC)Reply
How should I list it -- as (SAE), as (Southern American English), as (Southern US), or what? Duoduoduo 18:34, 10 October 2011 (UTC)Reply
I suggest "Southern US". It seems clearer than "Southern American English" (which might mean "South America+n English"), and it fits with our practice of using "US" for the general variety. :) - -sche (discuss) 20:45, 10 October 2011 (UTC)Reply
