These guys at least say it's a variant of picasse from pic (pick) but we don't have that entry, French Wiktionary doesn't either, and CNRTL doesn't either. I'm sure that pigache was a thing and just infra dig for the CNTRL but less sure about whether it originated within French or got borrowed from ML. somewhere. — LlywelynII 13:34, 12 July 2023 (UTC)Reply
