Google Books is unhelpful in searching for this, but Internet Archive only turns up instances where the word was hyphenated over a line break, as:

prud'-
homme

prud'-homme and friends

prud'-homme, prudhomme and prud'homme have overlapping defns Dunderdool (talk) 00:25, 24 August 2022 (UTC)Reply

Of the three, only prudhomme has definitions in both English and French; prud'-homme is only English and prud'homme is only French. This situation might not reflect reality, however. —Mahāgaja · talk 07:46, 24 August 2022 (UTC)Reply
