Grammar?[edit]

How is this word declined? Is it singular or plural? SpectrumDT 18:56, 20 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for asking. See especially the usage examples just added. DCDuring TALK 18:16, 8 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I wonder whether we should show a plural. If there is one, it's the same as the singular. ("These differing semantics are..."?) Equinox 18:42, 22 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Lexicosemantics[edit]

Should semantics and lexicosemantics be treated as the same word? Victar 12:26, 23 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Computer science usage[edit]

The term semantics is widely used in computer science and that usage should be covered here at some stage. Robbiemorrison 20:49, 6 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, I remember reading about "file sharing and locking semantics". What does it mean, though? Equinox 18:43, 22 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Meaning of words[edit]

Is semantics only occupied with the meaning of individual words, or isn't it also the meaning of language as a whole? If it's really just words, what science occupies itself with the meaning of phrases, sentences, passages? That should be added to the entry. Or otherwise the definition should be changed.Kolmiel (talk) 17:05, 20 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
