On Wikipedia Solenodon/solenodon is typo'd as "soledon" in ~250 taxonomic articles, something which is all the more surprising given how rarely that typo/misspelling occurs in e.g. Google Books' corpus. - -sche (discuss) 17:52, 24 January 2015 (UTC)

Under the heading from the boilerplate text in List of Mammals of ... that has one of the occurrences of soledon is the spelling "mmmals" for 'mammals' and "stout bodied" for 'stout-bodied'. IOW, it is just careless reuse of carelessly prepared boilerplate text. OTOH only some 60 of the instances of "mmmals" remain in contrast to the more than 200 of "soledon".
