Capitaliztion?[edit]

I am of the opinion that "svengali" should be "Svengali" ie., that the 's' should be capitalized. That is how I generally see it used. Thoughts? KevinOKeeffe 22:03, 26 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

As I should have noted in my previous edit, the term "svengali" does derive from a proper noun, as can be seen here: Svengali. KevinOKeeffe 09:56, 4 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Chambers has it capitalised. A Google Books search suggests it's overwhelmingly (but not always) capitalised. Equinox 01:35, 25 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Pronunciation vandal[edit]

Please note that someone occasionally vandalises this page by changing the /g/ in the pronunciation to a /dʒ/. That is wrong. Equinox 15:46, 26 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Is it acceptable as alternative pronunciation? I don't see why this would be pronounced /dʒ/, maybe as hyperforeignism? – Jberkel 16:39, 9 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
