Eastern Romance descendants[edit]

@Word dewd544, @Bogdan, according to MDA2 (2010) the term vitru exists in Romanian, but I haven't been able to find anything else. Any insights you can provide Bogdan? --Robbie SWE (talk) 17:28, 11 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@Robbie SWE, it's one of the Latin words borrowed in 19th century to replace Slavic words (sticlă). In this particular case, it didn't stick, I could only find it in a few dictionaries of the Latinists, such as the one of August Treboniu Laurian. The expected inherited term would be *vetru, compare Italian vetro. Bogdan (talk) 18:42, 11 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks Bogdan! Does it merit a mention as "borrowed, obsolete" in the descendats list? Robbie SWE (talk) 18:47, 11 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
