warm-up match[edit]

Definition is overspecific. It's just a match that functions as a warm up (unless citations can show otherwise). Mglovesfun (talk) 13:17, 27 April 2010 (UTC)Reply

I agree that it's too specific. It can be used in any sport (I've heard of warm-up rugby matches, warm-up football matches). It's not exactly SoP, but its meaning can be easily extracted from the parts (for anyone who has some common sense). weak delete JamesjiaoTC 00:52, 29 April 2010 (UTC)Reply
Engish Wiktionary is designed for people who speak English. As you say, if you speak English, the meaning can easily be extracted from its parts. Mglovesfun (talk) 11:38, 31 May 2010 (UTC)Reply
Delete. Very unlikely anyone would interpret it as being anything other than a competitive type match used as a warm-up for some other event. You could light a matchstick and use it to warm up, but that would really be over the top. Facts707 11:46, 13 May 2010 (UTC)Reply
