Deletion debate[edit]
The following information has failed Wiktionary's deletion process.
It should not be re-entered without careful consideration.
Definition is overspecific. It's just a match that functions as a warm up (unless citations can show otherwise). Mglovesfun (talk) 13:17, 27 April 2010 (UTC)
- I agree that it's too specific. It can be used in any sport (I've heard of warm-up rugby matches, warm-up football matches). It's not exactly SoP, but its meaning can be easily extracted from the parts (for anyone who has some common sense). weak delete Jamesjiao → T ◊ C 00:52, 29 April 2010 (UTC)
- Engish Wiktionary is designed for people who speak English. As you say, if you speak English, the meaning can easily be extracted from its parts. Mglovesfun (talk) 11:38, 31 May 2010 (UTC)
- Delete. Very unlikely anyone would interpret it as being anything other than a competitive type match used as a warm-up for some other event. You could light a matchstick and use it to warm up, but that would really be over the top. Facts707 11:46, 13 May 2010 (UTC)
