Template:ja-etym-renyokei

This produces an etymology for a large group of nouns or adverbs which are the 連用形 (ren'yōkei) or continuative forms of verbs or adjectives. This template should be used to keep terminology consistent, since "continuative form" is just one of many translations of 連用形 (ren'yōkei).
Usage
The first parameter, the only one required, should be the verb or adjective of which the term in question is the continuative form.
{{ja-etym-renyokei|掻っ払う}}produces:- 連用形 (ren'yōkei, “stem or continuative form”) of the verb 掻っ払う.
- An adjective ending in い or し will automatically be identified; with the text in the output updating accordingly (the word "verb" changing to "adjective").
{{ja-etym-renyokei|悪い|わるい}}produces:- 連用形 (ren'yōkei, “stem or continuative form”) of the adjective 悪い (warui).
{{ja-etym-renyokei|わろし}}produces:- 連用形 (ren'yōkei, “stem or continuative form”) of the adjective わろし.
Furigana (ruby text) can be given in the second parameter, and a gloss in the third, in the same manner as {{ja-r}}.

To remove the final period, use |nodot= with any argument:

To reference a Classical Japanese verb, use |classical= with any argument:
{{ja-etym-renyokei|漬く|なずく|classical=y}}produces:- 連用形 (ren'yōkei, “stem or continuative form”) of classical verb 漬く (nazuku).
To reference a modern Japanese verb, use |modern= with any argument:
{{ja-etym-renyokei|借りる|かりる|modern=y}}produces:- 連用形 (ren'yōkei, “stem or continuative form”) of modern verb 借りる (kariru).
