Khmer pronunciation module, relying on the backend Module:km-pron.

Usage

No compulsory parameters.

Optional:

• Arguments 1 – ∞ take the phonetic respellings for Khmer. More details can be found on Wiktionary:Khmer romanization.
• |a=: audio file
• |word=: The "page title", if not used in the mainspace.

Respelling

Respellings should mostly follow the lexicographical tradition as found in unilingual Khmer dictionaries.

There are a few more notations that are specific to this template, with regards to the shortening of unstressed inherent vowels. This shortening is already automatically handled in simple disyllabic words like in របស់ (rɔbɑh). For other situations:

• if the shortening is also accompanied by a reduction, use (៏).

Ex:

Orthographic របស់ rps´ Phonemic រ៏-បស់ rʿ-ps´ WT romanisation rɔbɑh (standard) IPA(key) /rɔ.ˈɓɑh/

• if the shortened syllable has another syllable before, the automatic shortening doesn't occur but can be forced with a bantak (់) directly placed on the shortened syllable. Ex:
