About[edit]

This template is for use within Thesaurus entries. It links the synonym, antonym, or other related word to the corresponding Wiktionary entry, and to the Thesaurus entry of the same name if it exists.

The name of the template refers to the thesaurus project's original name, "Wikisaurus", or "WS" for short.

Parameters[edit]

This template uses two or three unnamed (positional) parameters and a few named parameters. The first two positional parameters are mandatory; the remainder are optional.

  • |1= Mandatory: Language code of term to link to.
  • |2= Mandatory: Term.
  • |3= Optional hovertext gloss.
  • |link= Page to link to. If omitted, the second parameter will be linked to. If set to empty ({{ws|langcode|onym|link=}}), no link is shown.
  • |nows=1 Suppress the [⇒ thesaurus] link. By default, this link is displayed when a Thesaurus page exists for the provided word.
