Template talk:U:ja:uk

If we lemmatize wago at their most common spelling (instead of their most common kanji spelling which was former practice) in order to "reflect reality", does that mean we can do away with this template in most situations?

For example, we use this template on 玩具 to indicate that the kana spelling おもちゃ is more common for the first reading. If we move that reading to おもちゃ, then {{ja-uk}} would be superfluous.

Yes, that would seem to follow. Clicking 'transclusions', though, I see a lot of pages at the moment, so the template's deprecation might be a long-term thing. Cnilep (talk) 08:25, 20 September 2019 (UTC)

However, the kanji which do have a more common kana reading should still appear as entries, in my opinion. If one removes the first etymology in 玩具, it could be misleading to anyone who does not visit the おもちゃ page. AstroVulpes (talk) 09:04, 20 September 2019 (UTC)
