If you generate just [[челове́к]]*
that ought to be enough. full_link
should go over all the links embedded in a term and process them appropriately. I don't know if that would fix this problem though, it does seem like this is a bug. I just don't know where yet.
So it's actually generating [[человек#Russian|челове́к]]<sup>*</sup>
and the links module is somehow getting confused and surrounding the whole thing with a self-link. The underlying wikimedia code doesn't display links well if there is a < in the left side of the link, which is why the weird display happens.
