- Entry layout (EL) is a detailed policy on Wiktionary's page formatting; all entries must conform to it. The easiest way to start off is to copy the contents of an existing same-language entry, and then adapt it to fit the entry you are creating.
- Check out Language considerations to find out more about how to edit for a particular language.
- Our Criteria for Inclusion (CFI) defines exactly which words can be added to Wiktionary; the most important part is that Wiktionary only accepts words that have been in somewhat widespread use over the course of at least a year, and citations that demonstrate usage can be asked for when there is doubt.
- If you already have some experience with editing our sister project Wikipedia, then you may find our guide for Wikipedia users useful.

The sense you deleted from this entry is currently undergoing a request for verification, and given the politically charged nature of the entire Macedonian naming dispute, this is one item that most definitely should not have Wiktionary policies bent, in particular that items sent to RFV remain there for one month before deletion occurs. If by the end of the usual one-month period (which would be on 8 May for this sense), three cites that meet Wiktionary's standards are not found, then the sense will be removed. Even then, the citation that has been located so far would be moved to Citations:Μακεδονία so that if addition citations of the use of Μακεδονία with that sense are found, then it could be restored. — Carolina wren discussió 22:04, 16 April 2009 (UTC)
Hello, ΚΕΚΡΩΨ. It is great that you fixed the Greek section there, but do you think it would be appropriate to include there such nice widespread translations as Δημοκρατία των Σκοπίων (Republic of Skopie), Σκόπια (Skopie), κράτος των Σκοπίων (The state of Skopie), as they have no analogues in English. They are widespread in Greece, are they not? (I took them from w:el:Πρώην Γιουγκοσλαβική Δημοκρατία της Μακεδονίας). If you accede to add them, could you determine the gender, because I do not understand Greek (well, only the alphabet). Regards hight Bogorm 18:28, 17 April 2009 (UTC)

- Yes, I forgot about those: (τα) Σκόπια is neuter (plural), (το) Κράτος (των Σκοπίων) is neuter, and (η) Δημοκρατία (των Σκοπίων) is feminine. ·ΚΕΚΡΩΨ· 09:11, 18 April 2009 (UTC)

- Dude, I don't know what your problem is. The country in common English is Macedonia. As a clear Macedonist vandal, I took out 'former Yugoslav', but left 'Republic of'. Then, due to my Macedonistic POV, I re-added 'former Yugoslav' outside of the link. Local hero 20:22, 18 April 2009 (UTC)

- Well, you were directly involved but you don't seem to understand. You automatically assumed that am one of the Skopje-to-Solun nationalists, not exactly assuming good faith. The sentence said that the country is better known in English as 'the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia', which is completely untrue. So, I changed it. If you want to tweak the wording of the sentence so that the appropriate link would be 'former yugo.....' then do it. Local hero 21:08, 18 April 2009 (UTC)
