Are you sure "quarter-" is a prefix? The burger is "quarter pound" + "-er". It's not a quarter version of something called a "pounder". Equinox 17:26, 9 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

Well, actually there IS a pounder that mentions quarter-pounder as a derived term ;) Now, maybe you're right that the prefix could be seen only as first generating a quarter-pound (with prefix quarter-) and then this noun would be further derived as "quarter-pound" + -er (suffix -er)? Or is it "quarter" + -pounder suffix? I dunno. I guess this should be looked up in some authoritative source such as OED rather than guessing it ourselves, but feel free to change to the best. 62.147.24.194 17:36, 9 July 2010 (UTC)Reply
