I see you are doing a great job here. Thanks. A small suggestion though. Once a word has been fixed to acceptable levels, strike it like this word heading i.e. <word "strike"> xxx <word "/strike"> at the rfc page. It just helps to see which words still need attention. If you knew how to strike, please forgive me. It took me ages to learn. Best wishes. Andrew massyn 09:27, 20 August 2006 (UTC)
What was the reason for this edit? The material has now been restored. Widsith 17:32, 30 August 2006 (UTC)
- It was very wordy. Now that I look back at it, I guess I deleted a bit too much. Sorry about that. Foxjwill 18:56, 10 September 2006 (UTC)
Using ʌ vs ə
[edit]I've noticed that you've used the symbol ʌ in the pronunciation of words like adorably. This is not quite correct. The ʌ sound apopears in words like cup and but, but the sound in adorably is ə. My guess is that you are an American (like myself) and so the sounds are blurred a bit. The difference is where the sound is made in the mouth. Most English speakers pronounce cup toward the back of the mouth (ʌ), not in the front of the mouth (ə). --EncycloPetey 17:54, 7 September 2006 (UTC)
Related terms
[edit]Hi there. The ====Related terms==== section is for words related to the word itself, not to its meaning. So jerks, jerking, jerkily, jerk off are related to jerk - but acceleration isn't - it goes in ====See also====. Cheers SemperBlotto 08:29, 21 February 2007 (UTC)
Why are you emptying this category? There is no reason for that. Many notions cannot be clearly associated to only one branch of mathematics. Moreover, your changes to bijective make the first meaning incomprehensible because you deleted the information that this is a property a function may or may not have. A set cannot be injective. In addition, it's debatable whether elementary properties of functions belong to the area of "set theory". -- Gauss 20:00, 7 July 2008 (UTC)
Your account will be renamed
[edit]Hello,
The developer team at Wikimedia is making some changes to how accounts work, as part of our on-going efforts to provide new and better tools for our users like cross-wiki notifications. These changes will mean you have the same account name everywhere. This will let us give you new features that will help you edit and discuss better, and allow more flexible user permissions for tools. One of the side-effects of this is that user accounts will now have to be unique across all 900 Wikimedia wikis. See the announcement for more information.
Unfortunately, your account clashes with another account also called Foxjwill. To make sure that both of you can use all Wikimedia projects in future, we have reserved the name Foxjwill~enwiktionary that only you will have. If you like it, you don't have to do anything. If you do not like it, you can pick out a different name.
Your account will still work as before, and you will be credited for all your edits made so far, but you will have to use the new account name when you log in.
Sorry for the inconvenience.
Yours,
Keegan Peterzell
