• Entry layout (EL) is a detailed policy on Wiktionary's page formatting; all entries must conform to it. The easiest way to start off is to copy the contents of an existing same-language entry, and then adapt it to fit the entry you are creating.

• Our Criteria for Inclusion (CFI) defines exactly which words can be added to Wiktionary; the most important part is that Wiktionary only accepts words that have been in somewhat widespread use over the course of at least a year, and citations that demonstrate usage can be asked for when there is doubt.
• If you already have some experience with editing our sister project Wikipedia, then you may find our guide for Wikipedia users useful.
• If you have any questions, bring them to Wiktionary:Information desk or ask me on my talk page.
• Whenever commenting on any discussion page, please sign your posts with four tildes (~~~~) which automatically produces your username and timestamp.

Changsha Xiang

Yeah, Changsha Xiang (長沙話) is my native tongue. Though, I had to rely on the dictionary for examples, since there's not much other resources on the language's written form. SgU110 (talk) 04:45, 20 February 2023 (UTC)

Great to have you here! You can try {{#Babel:hsn}}. By the way, if you are making example sentences, it's best that you modify them a little bit, which I think you do sometimes. Otherwise, it would be best to note that it's from the dictionary, such as done in 何得. — justin(r)leung _{{ (t...) | c=› }} 05:27, 20 February 2023 (UTC)

I wasn't sure if I was allowed to modify it, since some of the examples kind of felt a bit... off? Just in case, I created a Xiang entry in Babel just to make things easier for myself. SgU110 (talk) 05:29, 20 February 2023 (UTC)

You can make your own example sentences "from scratch". We do not need to follow "the dictionary" exactly since it's not the only authority. But if you're taking the example sentences from the dictionary exactly, please cite the source. By the way, marking edits as "minor" should only be reserved for making small adjustments, such as adjusting formatting or fixing typos.
