By the way, you can sign your name on Talk (discussion) and vote pages using four tildes, like this: ~~~~, which automatically produces your name and the current date. If you have any questions, see the help pages, add a question to one of the discussion rooms or ask me on my Talk page. Again, welcome!
Hi! Thanks for the Telugu translations! You may want to try using template {{t}}
, like this. tr= parameter is for transliteration, and g= parameter is for gender. Links to other wiktionaries are automatically checked by User:Tbot, which updates {{t}}
to {{t-}}
or {{t+}}
, depending on whether the foreign wiktionary has or hasn't entry of the same name. --Ivan Štambuk 22:16, 22 January 2008 (UTC)
- You're still not doing it right. Please don't link directly to foreign wiktionaries in your translations. Tempalte
{{t}}
will generate "te" in superscript which will link to Telugu wiktionary entry for your translation. Use it, like this. sc=Telu is for setting the script to Telugu, to help browsers load appropriate fonts (among other things). If you have any questions, just ask! --Ivan Štambuk 18:25, 25 January 2008 (UTC)
- The English Wiktionary strives to have entries for every word in every language. So, while we don't yet have an entry for దూరవాణి, we do have an entry for గురించి, for example. Does that help? Atelaes 00:19, 26 January 2008 (UTC)
- Yes, and like Atelaes said - you're more then welcome to add Telugu lexemes here. With English translations, of course. Take a look at Category:Telugu language and it's subcategories for examples of already added words. Generally, you should follow layout described at WT:ELE. If you want to get started quickly check out examples such as అనువాదము (anuvādamu), గౌరవనీయ (gauravanīya), వాదించు (vādiñcu). As you suspect, parameters such as tr= and sc= are standardized accross myriad of different templates. Cheers! --Ivan Štambuk 19:08, 26 January 2008 (UTC)
