User talk:Wikider~enwiktionary
Welcome
[edit]Welcome!
Hello, and welcome to Wiktionary. Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are a few good links for newcomers:
- Wiktionary Tutorial
- Community Portal
- Entry layout explained
- How to edit a page
- How to start a page
- Wiktionary Sandbox (a safe place for testing syntax)
I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wiktionarian! By the way, you can sign your name on Talk (discussion) and vote pages using four tildes, like this: ~~~~, which automatically produces your name and the current date. If you have any questions, see the help pages, add a question to the beer parlour or ask me on my Talk page. Again, welcome! —Dvortygirl 04:18, 10 February 2006 (UTC)
My talk page
[edit]Wikider,
If you ever feel the need to get the attention of a sysop again, please be a little discrete. Attempting to diff to last revision of my talk page resulted in a browser timeout...this was caused by you blanking the page, then bombarding it with 2880 lines of garbage, with an image link on each line.
Initially I blocked you, and cleared that mess. While auto-reverting all your entries and deleting entries where you were the only editor, I discovered the anon IP you apparently must've been trying to complain about. That IP has been blocked, and those edits reverted/deleted. (Remember; I couldn't read my talk page until I had cleared your stuff off it.)
In the future, a single notice indicating something is amiss (preferably on the requests for deletion page or the vandalism page will get your point across clearer with much less fuss.

Your account will be renamed
[edit]Hello,
The developer team at Wikimedia is making some changes to how accounts work, as part of our on-going efforts to provide new and better tools for our users like cross-wiki notifications. These changes will mean you have the same account name everywhere. This will let us give you new features that will help you edit and discuss better, and allow more flexible user permissions for tools. One of the side-effects of this is that user accounts will now have to be unique across all 900 Wikimedia wikis. See the announcement for more information.
Unfortunately, your account clashes with another account also called Wikider. To make sure that both of you can use all Wikimedia projects in future, we have reserved the name Wikider~enwiktionary that only you will have. If you like it, you don't have to do anything. If you do not like it, you can pick out a different name.
Your account will still work as before, and you will be credited for all your edits made so far, but you will have to use the new account name when you log in.
Sorry for the inconvenience.
Yours,
Keegan Peterzell
