- (Gemert-Bakel) First attested as Vossenberg in 1936. Compound of vos (“fox, Vulpes vulpes”) and berg, here used in the dialectal sense "foxhole".
- (Gilze en Rijen) First attested as vossenberch in 1456. Derived from Middle Dutch vossenberg (“foxhole”).
- (Helmond) Compound of vos (“fox, Vulpes vulpes”) and berg (“hill, elevated place”).
