[edit]Borrowed from Old Church Slavonic златьна (zlatĭna), feminine of златьнъ (zlatĭnŭ, “golden”), from злато (zlato) + -ьнъ (-ĭnŭ) from Proto-Slavic *zolto (“gold”), referring to its gold mines. Compare Hungarian Zalatna.
