From aáṣáà (“snuff, tobacco”) + ità (“The tree Celtis mildbraedii”), literally “Snuff of the Celtis mildbraedii”.

- The inedible fungi Daldinia concentrica, it grows on the dead wood of the tree Celtis mildbraedii, where it is said to smell of snuff or tobacco.
