Etymology[edit]

Plural of a singular form from Proto-Tocharian *ākru, from Proto-Indo-European *h₂éḱru. Cognates include Tocharian A ākär, Sanskrit अश्रु (aśru), Avestan 𐬀𐬯𐬭𐬏 (asrū), Lithuanian ãšara. Compare Tocharian A ākär.
