[edit]Affixed celeng (“wild boar, pig”) + -an (“similar to”), from Javanese ꦕꦺꦭꦺꦔꦤ꧀ (cèlèngan).

- piggy bank: A small container, sometimes in the form of a pig, to store small saved coins in. Often the "bank" must be broken open to retrieve the contents.
- (in extension) saving: something (usually money) that is saved, particularly money that has been set aside for the future.
