Etymology
From Vulgar Latin root *clagum, from metathesis of Latin coāgulum (cf. the contracted Late Latin form quaglum, found in some manuscripts). A late Romance form was borrowed into Ukrainian ґляґ (gljag), dialectal Russian гляк (gljak), гляканка (gljakanka).
