choriocarcinoma (plural choriocarcinomas or choriocarcinomata)

  1. (oncology) A malignant, trophoblastic cancer, usually of the placenta.
    • 2010, Siddhartha Mukherjee, The Emperor of all Maladies, Fourth Estate 2011, p. 135:
When it occurs, choriocarcinoma is thus a double tragedy: an abnormal pregnancy compounded by a lethal malignancy, birth tipped into death.
