  1. In a bicycle, the set of multiple sprockets that attaches to the hub on the rear wheel.
    • 2010, Todd Downs, The Bicycling Guide to Complete Bicycle Maintenance & Repair:
      If there's no spline, the cassette is an older design requiring two use spline-interfaces to fit cogsets onto their freehub bodies, they are not compatible.
