creepfest (plural creepfests)

  1. (slang) A work in the horror genre, or an event exhibiting such works.
    • 2012, Becky Siegel Spratford, The Readers' Advisory Guide to Horror, page 51:
The “terror” stories in this volume are fear-inducing creepfests filled with monsters, ghosts, and supernatural evil. These are not Sherlock Holmes whodunits, but rather satisfyingly frightful reads.
    • 2006, Newsweek, volume 147:
Three more creepfests are scheduled for the next month, starting with Universal's "Slither" this Friday.
