      Very open crioconic whorls, which gradually pass into a long straight shaft.
    • 1988, Jost Wiedmann, Jürgen Kullmann, Cephalopods Present and Past: O.H. Schindewolf Symposium, Tübingen 1985:
      Hoplocriocone - crioconic early whorls. The last whorl bends away from crioconic spiral and (without becoming straight) is gradually bent like a hook.
