From Proto-Turkic *dïrŋa-k (“finger-nail, claw”)[1]. Cognate with Old Turkic 𐱃𐰃𐰺𐰭𐰴 (tïrŋaq, “fingernail”), Turkish and Crimean Tatar tırnak, etc.
