Etymology

Ultimately from Proto-Indo-European *tréyes (three), with the initial dh- probably deriving from an original compound (cf. dhjetë), from earlier *ndrim, from Proto-Albanian *ən-treima.

  1. the first and last three days of March
  2. the first twelve days of August, during which weather forecasts were made
