disfellowshipment (plural disfellowshipments)

  1. The removal from the fellowship of the Lord's Table (participation in the Lord's Supper); excommunication or expulsion from a Christian church.
  2. A temporary sanction used within The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, more severe than formal probation but less severe than excommunication.
