From (deprecated template usage) [etyl] Medieval Latin diversificatiō, from diversificātus, past participle of diversificō (“diversify”), from (deprecated template usage) [etyl] Latin diversus (“turned in different ways”) + faciō (“make, do”). Synchronically analyzable as diverse + -ification.
