Etymology

From Ottoman Turkish طوغرامق (doğramak, to cut up into slices or lumps, to slice, to carve), from Proto-Turkic *dogra- (to cut into slices, cut into small pieces).[1]

  1. (transitive) to chop, hash, to cut into slices or pieces; to carve, chop to bits
