Etymology

From Ancient Greek δυσμορφία (dusmorphía), from δυσ- (dus-, bad, mal-) + μορφή (morphḗ, shape, form) + -ία (-ía).

  1. (pathology) Any of various psychological disorders whose sufferers believe that their body is wrong or inadequate, such as anorexia, bulimia, and muscle dysmorphia ("bigorexia").
